How to use SermoVox.
The numbered guide in the control panel takes you through setup. Open or close the instructions whenever you need them.

Connect and test audio
Choose a connected microphone or an input from the venue’s sound system. Use the microphone test to check that speech is clear.

Choose the languages
Set the spoken language and up to four target languages. Include the spoken language if you also want captions without translation.

Open the audience view
Open the projector in a separate browser window, move it to the shared screen and enter full screen.

Start and speak
Prepare the connection and start captions. Speech is processed in segments, and the completed text appears for the audience.
What do you need?
A computer, an up-to-date browser, a microphone or audio input, and a stable internet connection. For the audience, use a projector or separate screen. The cloud service handles recognition and translation.

Register as your organisation’s contact person. Manage your access from your account.

Choose your purchase amount in My account and pay by card. The minimum purchase is €10, giving you 2 hours 30 minutes.

Select your microphone and languages and open the audience view. Time is used only during a running speech session.

YOU DECIDE WHEN TO USE IT
Signing in and preparing do not use time. When your speech ends, press Stop. Silence also uses time while a session is running.
BEFORE YOU START
Questions about the service.
Does SermoVox replace an interpreter?
SermoVox produces automatic captions and text translations, not spoken interpretation. Recognition and translations may contain errors. Verify important meanings separately. Do not rely on it as the sole interpretation in situations where errors could have serious consequences.
Does the audience need a device or account?
The audience can read from a shared screen without their own device. The operator signs in and opens a protected projector window. The audience view is not a publicly shareable link.
Are speech or captions stored?
Speech and captions are not stored as a permanent archive. You can download session text as a TXT file for five minutes after stopping. Signing out or the login expiring removes the session text from the service.
How is usage time measured?
Usage time runs from starting a speech session until stopping it, including silence. Signing in does not use time. Press Stop when the speech ends.
How much does it cost?
Usage costs €4.00/hour. The minimum purchase is €10 for 2 hours 30 minutes. No monthly fee or automatic renewal.
Will it work with any microphone?
You can select an audio input recognised by your browser. A clear microphone close to the speaker or a clean signal from the sound system improves recognition. Test microphone permission, audio levels, internet and screens before your event.
